Classification of vitamin
According to their Quality to be dissolved in fat or water, vitamins are classified into 2 group as follow:
1) Fat-Soluble Vitamins:
Vitamin A, D, E, K all are fat-soluble vitamins.
Fat-Soluble Vitamins is hydrophobic in nature and are stored in the liver.
It is not excreted out of the body; therefore, excessive intake can produce a toxic effect and also result in a condition known as hypervitaminosis.
2) Water-Soluble Vitamins(W.S.V.):-
Vitamin B complex & vitamin C are(W.S.V.)
Water-Soluble Vitamins is made of C, H, O, and N.
W. S. V. are not stored in the body, therefore, are required daily in small quantities.

Vitamin A(retinol)
Vitamin D (calciferol) D2, D3
Vitamin E (tocopherol)
Vitamin K (Phylloquinone)
Water-Soluble Vitamins
Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid)
Vitamin B Complex
B1 (Thiamine)
B2 (Riboflavin)
B3 (Niacin)
B5 (Pantothenic acid)
B6 (Pyridoxine)
B7 (Biotin)
B9Folacin (Folate or Folic Acid)
B12 (Cobalamin)
